Draft follow-up

What's New

September 2026 Update
CHATS Draft follow-up emails with Claude
Open any chat and hit Draft follow-up email under a session. Paste your Granola or other AI note-taker transcript if you have one, and Claude writes a short thank-you note that references what you actually talked about. Copy it, open it straight in Gmail, or regenerate. One more tap files Claude's notes and follow-up items into the chat for you.
NEW TAB Deals & Trends
Prep the "what market trend or deal are you following?" question. Log industry trends (the trend, the problem it creates, the opportunity, your stance) and deals you follow (rationale, the numbers, deal type). Each card shows which parts you still need to fill in. The Stories tab is now called Behavioral Stories.
APPEARANCE Light mode
Switch between light and dark with the ☀️ / 🌙 button in the header, or from the ⋮ menu on your phone. Your choice is remembered on each device.
EXPORT Export everything at once
Export All downloads a ZIP with every tab (chats, recruiters, firms, events, stories, deals, and your calendar) as spreadsheet-ready CSVs. Notes with line breaks now import back in cleanly.
SIGN-IN Codes instead of links, plus Google & Microsoft
You now sign in with an 8-digit code instead of a magic link, since school email filters were breaking the links. Or skip email entirely with Sign in with Google or Microsoft. If your school uses Outlook and codes never arrive, see FAQ #13.
ACCESS Request access from the sign-in screen
New users can tap Request access, enter their name, school, and email, and get approved without waiting for an invite.
MOBILE Cleaner phone layout & a FAQ
On your phone, header actions now live behind the ⋮ button. A new FAQ covers how the tracker works and what to do if a sign-in code doesn't show up.
July 2026 Update
EVENTS Who did I meet
Inside any event, you can now add everyone you met — bankers, recruiters, whoever. Capture their name, role, email, phone, LinkedIn, and notes in one place. After the event, a gold banner shows up on your Chats page reminding you who to follow up with. Hit Log Chat and it auto-fills a new entry for that person — no retyping.
EVENTS Filter & search
Search your events by firm name or tap a type chip (Info Session, Interview, Networking Event, etc.) to narrow things down fast.
EVENTS Multiple links & flyers
Add as many links as you need to an event — Zoom, registration, company page, whatever. Upload flyers directly to the event too; they automatically show up in that firm's profile.
EVENTS Firm auto-add
Type a new firm name when creating an event and it gets added to your Firms list automatically. No need to go add it separately.
FIRMS Personal rank (replaces Tier 1/2/3)
The old 1/2/3 tier system is gone. Each firm now gets a plain-English label: Strong Interest, Moderate, or Low Priority. Set it right from the inline dropdown — no need to open the firm.
FIRMS Group by Bank Type or Personal Rank
New toggle at the top of the Firms page. Bank Type keeps the familiar BB / EB / MM grouping. Personal Rank re-sorts everything by how much you want to work there — with each firm's bank type badge still showing so you never lose context. More types added too: Restructuring, Specialty Boutique, Regional, Other.
Earlier updates
Calendar view — built-in monthly calendar showing all your chats and events as color-coded dots. Click any day to see details or add a new chat.
Calendar export — download any chat or event as a .ics file to add to Apple Calendar, Outlook, or Google Calendar.
Multiple coffee chats per contact — log several conversations with the same person. Each has its own date, notes, and follow-up. A timeline in the contact card shows your full history with them.

Frequently Asked Questions

1 What is a coffee chat?

A coffee chat is an informal informational interview with an IB professional — usually 20–30 minutes over Zoom or in person. The goal is to learn about their experience, group, and firm while building a genuine relationship that supports your recruiting efforts.

2 How do I log a coffee chat?

Click Log Chat in the top-right corner. Fill in the contact's name, bank, group, title, date, and stage. Add session notes to capture what you discussed and any follow-up items. Your entry saves automatically.

3 What do the stages mean?

Outreach — you've reached out but haven't confirmed a time yet.

Scheduled — a meeting is confirmed on the calendar.

Done — the chat has taken place.

Ghosted — no response after multiple follow-up attempts.

4 Does my data save automatically?

Yes. Every change syncs to your private cloud account within 2 seconds. No save button needed — your data is available on any device when you sign in.

5 Is my data private?

Yes. Each account is fully isolated — no one else can see your chats. Row-level security at the database layer enforces that every user can only read and write their own records.

6 How do I import contacts from a spreadsheet?

Export your Google Sheet or Excel file as a CSV (File → Download → CSV), then click Import CSV in the header. Duplicate entries — matched by name and bank — are automatically skipped.

7 How do I export my data?

Click Export CSV in the header to download all your coffee chats as a spreadsheet. Open it in Excel or Google Sheets to sort, filter, and analyze your progress.

8 What is the Follow-up banner?

The gold banner near the top surfaces upcoming recruiting events or deadlines — application opens, info sessions, superday reminders. Manage them in the Events section of the calendar tab.

9 What is the STAR Story Bank?

A section to organize behavioral interview answers using the STAR framework (Situation, Task, Action, Result). IB interviews are behavioral-heavy — polished, tagged stories let you pull the right answer fast in any interview.

10 What is the Firm Tracker?

A bird's-eye view of every firm you're targeting, organized by bank type (BB, EB, MM, etc.). Rank firms by interest, note target groups, and track your overall coverage across the recruiting landscape.

11 How do I get access for a new user?

Access is invite-only. On the sign-in screen, tap Request access and fill in your name, school, and email. Once approved you can sign in immediately — no password to set up.

12 Why don't I need a password?

There's nothing to forget or leak. Enter your email and we send an 8-digit code that's valid once, for an hour. Type it in and you're signed in. You can also use Sign in with Google — at schools on Google (Penn/PennKey, Berkeley) that signs you straight in through your school account.

13 My code never arrived. Where did it go?

Almost always your school's mail filter. Schools running Microsoft/Outlook — Booth, HBS, Columbia, MIT, Yale, Cornell, Tuck, Darden, Fuqua — routinely quarantine sign-in codes as suspected phishing, and quarantined mail never reaches your Junk folder. Check security.microsoft.com/quarantine, or save yourself the trouble and register with a personal email instead. Personal addresses work everywhere and need no help from IT.
